About Me

The process of discovering more about who you are is something to embrace and celebrate!

I’m passionate about teaching individuals how to overcome trauma and numerous mental health challenges that impact their daily functioning. Furthermore, my goal is to teach clients how to live meaningful lives in an effort to thouroughly  rediscover themselves and stay true to who they are.

In particular, I have a special place in my heart for those individuals that find themselves “lost” and are looking for their purpose in life. Often times, our goals in life are shadowed by the day-to-day routines/hustle and bustle of every day. As we know, life doesn’t come with a user manual. We often find an urgency for tools to navigate life. My specialty focuses on teaching; teaching clients skills that can empower them to overcome life’s challenges. My goal is to teach skills that clients will be able to use for the rest of their lives with or without a therapist’s assistance.

I also enjoy providing therapy to my fellow therapists. I am of the belief that every individual can benefit from having a safe space to allow themselves to be vulnerable and work on themselves.

Knowledge is power, but knowledge about yourself is self empowerment.

A secondary passion I have developed once I became a mother (of two children) is parenting. My parenting goal was, and continues to be, creating a healthier and more prosperous childhood for my children than the one I experienced. I believe all parents want and try their best to create new patterns instead of repeating the ones they experienced. I believe in parents’ ability to create and sustain a positive approach when discipling their children. I do not believe there exists a parent in this world that wakes up in the morning and says to themselves/others “I think I am going to hurt my child today” (have it be emotionally, physically, and so on). Although the desire to hurt/harm our children in any way is not present, it can often happen. Here is where our stressors come in and turn us into individuals we swore we wouldn’t become (stressors such as marital issues, job related, health problems, etc.). Chronic stress can cause us to become unrecognizable to our own selves. This is why it is critical to learn how to cope with all sorts of stress and ensure we stay true to who we are.

We can learn and change in a state of pain and suffering, or we can do so in a state of joy and inspiration.

Lastly, when we feel good internally, we want to look good externally as well. Therefore, skincare naturally developed into a passion for me in addition to nutrition. I believe that our food choices have a direct correlation on our skin (and obviously on our overall health). It has taken me years to realize that when a blemish shows up on our face or body, it is our body’s attempt to signal to us that something is going on, something that requires our attention. Acne, for example, is often thought to be a bacterial infection, when in all actuality it is a toxin purge. I have followed and implemented Dr. Ben Johnson’s protocols for overall skin health (when I personally struggled with hyperpigmentation and acne). I have sought out numerous dermatologists who have “treated” with antibiotics and other gut harming medicines. Once I dived into Dr. Ben Johnson’s philosophy and taken charge of my external conditions, I have learned that acne is a symptom of the body detoxifying excess mucus, estrogenic toxins, candida, food preservatives, just to name a few. He educates people about what you can do to holistically address the root causes of acne. Furthermore, he addresses the relationship between food and acne, the importance of detoxing your body slowly, the truth about bacteria on your face, and more. As I mentioned beforehand, acne is just an example, however he addresses so much more than that such as hyperpigmentation, inflammation, rosacea, chronic pain anywhere in the body, and autoimmune diseases.

How I live out my passion as a therapist & help others:

I find a sense of fulfillment and belonging when walking alongside others in their journey. I understand that our journeys are unique and may differ from one another, but I deeply value the importance of having someone to journey alongside. Recognizing the need for and genuinely pursing therapy are two of the bravest things a person can do for themselves. I am the therapist that can be the cheerleader working alongside you; one that will celebrate your successes, while also holding you accountable to your goals. I look forward to connecting with you.
