About Me

The process of discovering more about who you are is something to embrace and celebrate!

I’m passionate about teaching individuals how to overcome trauma and numerous mental health challenges that impact their daily functioning. Furthermore, my goal is to teach clients how to live meaningful lives in an effort to thouroughly  rediscover themselves and stay true to who they are.

In particular, I have a special place in my heart for those individuals that find themselves “lost” and are looking for their purpose in life. Often times, our goals in life are shadowed by the day-to-day routines/hustle and bustle of every day. As we know, life doesn’t come with a user manual. We often find an urgency for tools to navigate life. My specialty focuses on teaching; teaching clients skills that can empower them to overcome life’s challenges. My goal is to teach skills that clients will be able to use for the rest of their lives with or without a therapist’s assistance.

I also enjoy providing therapy to my fellow therapists. I am of the belief that every individual can benefit from having a safe space to allow themselves to be vulnerable and work on themselves.

Knowledge is power, but knowledge about yourself is self empowerment.

A secondary passion I have developed once I became a mother (of two children) is parenting. My parenting goal was, and continues to be, creating a healthier and more prosperous childhood for my children than the one I experienced. I believe all parents want and try their best to create new patterns instead of repeating the ones they experienced. I believe in parents’ ability to create and sustain a positive approach when discipling their children. I do not believe there exists a parent in this world that wakes up in the morning and says to themselves/others “I think I am going to hurt my child today” (have it be emotionally, physically, and so on). Although the desire to hurt/harm our children in any way is not present, it can often happen. Here is where our stressors come in and turn us into individuals we swore we wouldn’t become (stressors such as marital issues, job related, health problems, etc.). Chronic stress can cause us to become unrecognizable to our own selves. This is why it is critical to learn how to cope with all sorts of stress and ensure we stay true to who we are.

We can learn and change in a state of pain and suffering, or we can do so in a state of joy and inspiration.

Finally, when we feel good on the inside, we naturally want to reflect that on the outside. This is how my passion for skincare blossomed alongside my love for nutrition and overall well being. I firmly believe that our food choices directly impact our skin, body, and overall metabolic health. Over the years, I’ve come to understand that our food industry and environment plays a huge role in our wellbeing. I am on a mission to bring awareness and educate people about the small changes they can make today for a healthier tomorrow. Research shows that a healthy gut function is linked to a normal central nervous system function. Disruptions in the central nervous system function can lead to a variety of health issues, underscoring its importance in both everyday functioning and long-term health.

How I live out my passion as a therapist & help others:

I find a sense of fulfillment and belonging when walking alongside others in their journey. I understand that our journeys are unique and may differ from one another, but I deeply value the importance of having someone to journey alongside. Recognizing the need for and genuinely pursing therapy are two of the bravest things a person can do for themselves. I am the therapist that can be the cheerleader working alongside you; one that will celebrate your successes, while also holding you accountable to your goals. I look forward to connecting with you.
